Cornrows are very fastly becoming a fashion
statement. They provide a means for the client and stylists to
invent their own individual design. As well as their
individuality, braids can also be very practical. They are a good
way to grow out a perm or relaxer and return to the natural.
Braids are also wonderful for children because they are
long-lasting and do not require the use of chemicals.
It is very easy to care for braids. Put in correctly they
should be able to withstand a biweekly shampoo and it is advisable
to do so. It is not healthy for the hair or scalp to be left with
braids that are not w1ashed.

Remember the best way to wash braids is to do it gently.
To minimize the stress put on your braids gently wet your hair then lather
with a natural shampoo.Work the lather in the direction of the braids. Use
your fingertips to massage the scalp and remove any dirt from single
braids. Rub the scalp with a finger in the direction of the rows with
cornrows. Gently rinse the lather from the braids again in the direction
the braids are going. Follow this with a hot oil treatment for maximum
benefit. When drying do not rub the hair but pat it softly. Longer braids
will need to be dried by pressing the ends with a towel. Finally oil the
scalp and allow to air dry or sit under a dryer
